Walk the trails and learn about dinosaurs in Dino Roar Valley and enjoy the thrill of rides and games up in the Forest. The Fossil Dig Site is perfect for hands-on fun where you can excavate gigantic dinosaur bones and when everyone’s ready for a break there’s a good selection of food and drink.

There are three locations where guided tours will teach you some history and don’t worry – the two-hour pedal is easy for all ages.
Hunt for Garnet Treasure at Gore Mountain
Just north of Lake George is one of the largest garnet deposits in the world. Who wouldn’t want to spend the day looking for the perfect stone? Garnet Mine Tours begin at the Gore Mountain Gem & Mineral Shop where a tour guide will take you to an open pit where you’ll learn to how to sift and scoop. Back at the shop, the staff will weigh and help identify your gemstones. You can take them home or learn how to make them into stunning jewelry.
Walk and Spelunk the Natural Stone Bridge & Caves
The Natural Stone Bridge & Caves in Pottersville has exciting tours and activities for everyone. Take an easy walk on a ¾ mile gravel trail for the self-guided tour that covers the Sawmill Site Waterfalls, Artists’ Gorge, Arch Rock, and other rock formations. The more adventurous can go on a 3 to 4-hour-long spelunking expedition and crawl through rocky, sandy, and muddy passageways to reach four different caves. Don’t forget to stop at Stone Bridge Ice Cream stand for a treat (but not before you try to squeeze through the caves).
Create High Temperature Art at Adirondack Glassblowing Studio
Just a short drive from Lake George in North Creek, the Adirondack Glassblowing Studio holds classes that offer a unique experience with glass and white-hot furnaces. Pick a project, and instructors will walk you safely through every step, from blowing the bubble to using jacks and adding finishing touches. This fun adventure is a one-of-a-kind artist class that you’ll have a keepsake to remember by for a lifetime.

Ride the New Bobcat at Six Flags Great Escape: The Great Escape has been a Lake George favorite for generations. Offering more than 100 rides and attractions the adventures people can enjoy here just keep getting better. In 2024, the park introduced The Bobcat, a family coaster that is the first new wooden coaster built in New York since 1999. It’s been a hit among roller-coaster fanatics and delivers a modern twist on the old-fashioned appeal of a wooden coaster. Buckle up!
