About Lake George Village

Much like our Lake George, NY Lodging Property,
the Region has a little something for everyone!

The Village of Lake George is a summertime hotspot, located at the southern tip of the lake. Offering a beachy vacation vibe and plenty to do, Lake George Village is just 2.5 miles from Cramer’s Point Lake Breeze. Stroll along Canada Street for a wide variety of restaurants and bars, kitschy souvenir shops and arcades. Enjoy live music and fireworks over the lake in Shepard’s Park, or walk down Beach Road to the Fort William Henry, mini golf and steamboat cruises.

Parks & Beaches

Located on Canada Street in the heart of Lake George Village, Shepard’s Park features a grassy hill with walking paths, benches and plenty of shade, as well as a band shell for free concerts throughout the summer and a sandy beach with a playground. Million Dollar Beach, the largest public beach in Lake George Village, is located at the far end of Beach Road, across from Battlefield State Park and next to Dog Beach, where dogs are permitted to swim and play off-leash.

Shops & Restaurants

Lake George is a walkable village with a wide variety of restaurants and bars. From grab n’ go pizza and ice cream to lakeside dining and a wine tasting room, there’s something for every taste and budget. There’s also a Village Mall and many shops along Canada Street selling souvenirs, beach apparel, sundries, gifts and more. For groceries, stop by the Price Chopper market at 49 Amherst and Iroquois Street, just two blocks west of Shepard Park.

Boat Cruises & Parasailing

A trip to Lake George Village isn’t complete without a cruise on the Minne-Ha-Ha, or one of the other steamboats located on Beach Road. Choose from a variety of sightseeing cruises, brunch, lunch, dinner and fireworks cruises, or take a Tiki Boat Tour. For those seeking a bit of adventure, you can soar above the lake on a parasailing cruise, or rent your own boat, jet skis or kayaks from several companies directly in the village.

Mini Golf & Arcades

Lake George is known for its mini golf courses, but there’s only one putt-putt located directly in the village. Around the World Golf features two 18-hole courses on Beach Road, just across the street from the steamboat docks. You’ll also find several arcades along Canada Street, as well as bumper cars, bumper boats and a carousel at Funa’rama Fun Park at the corner of Canada Street and Beach Road. For something to do on a rainy day, checkout the House of Frankenstein Wax Museum or the Escape LG escape rooms.

Seasonal Events

In addition to weekly fireworks displays throughout the summer, and free concerts and live music seven days a week, Lake George Village hosts a number of events each year. Americade bike week happens right after Memorial Day, followed by the Adirondack Wine & Food Festival in June, Rock the Dock music festival in July and the Lake George chamber music and orchestra festival in August. There’s also an arts & crafts festival every August, and Lake George Village hosts the Adirondack Nationals Car Show and a jazz music festival every September.
