Swimming & Paddling

The clean, crystal-clear waters of Lake George are ideal for swimming and paddling. Take the hiking path from Cramer’s Point Lake Breeze to the beach, where you’ll find a sandy bottom and shallow entry to the lake, as well as complimentary row boats and canoes. You can also bring your own kayaks or rent them in town.

Boating

For those who prefer motorized water adventures, several marinas offer boat rentals, including pontoon boats, fishing boats, deck boats, center consoles and more. For a truly unique experience, you can even take a boat to lunch or dinner. The Boathouse Restaurant, Lake George Beach Club and The Algonquin are just a few of the restaurants accessible by boat.

Boat Tours & Cruises

Cruises and boat tours are a relaxing way to explore the lake. Choose from scenic sightseeing tours, brunch, lunch and dinner cruises, or sunset and fireworks cruises on board a large steamboat or wooden yacht. Lake George also offers tiki boat tours and fishing boat excursions, as well as water skiing, wakeboarding and cliff jumping tours.

Fishing

Lake George is ranked among New York State’s top five locations for bass fishing, as well as a number of other species, including lake trout, northern pike, pickerel, perch, pumpkinseed and brown bullhead. Fishing is allowed on public docks and along Beach Rd., or you can fish from one of our row boats and canoes. Just make sure to pick up a fishing license.

Parasailing

For a true water adventure, you can take to the sky with one of the local parasailing companies. Enjoy a birds-eye view of Lake George as you glide 300 feet above the water, suspended from a parasail wing that’s towed by a motorboat. Choose from single, double and triple-passenger flights, and experience Lake George from a unique perspective.
